So Long, Summer!

Summer might be a memory, but not to worry. Check out our updated events page! We have a lot of fun, exciting events and drink specials planned to help you ease into the fall. Our annual Harley Davidson Fashion show will be here before you know it, Sunday, October 3rd, so please, save the date!

I hope you all had a wonderful summer. It was great to see a lot of you at our various events, and thanks to everyone who supported Team Red Rock at the Bruise and Brews Dodgeball Tourney at Chelsea Piers. That was the most fun I've had in years!

Unfortunately, we've lost a few friends this summer. I would like to extend love and support to the families of Indian Larry and Pat Morgan. You'll both be remembered in our hearts, always.

Bartender of the Month: Mel!

Mel is our September Superstar! She is honestly one of the nicest people I have ever come across in all my years bartending. She will find the happy in any situation, and that is why you need to meet this woman. She works every Tuesday nite with Shana, so please, drop on by and tell her you saw her on our website!

Name: No, my parents did not name me "Mel" as many people have asked me. My full name is Melene'. Since I can't even get a sober person to say my name correctly, everyone just calls me "Mel". Unfortunately, it can be a little confusing for customers and coworkers because two other Red Rock girls are known as "Mel" too.

Where are you from? This is always the greatest question with customers. No one can ever guess where I am from. People always think I'm from the Midwest, Florida, Texas, or New Jersey! I was born and raised right outside of Boston, Massachusetts. But the only trace of the streotypical accent is in using my favorite word, and it is ONE word people- "WICKED AWESOME!!" If anyone wants to go fist-to-cuffs with me for being a diehard RED SOX fan, I will so take you down!

Shifts: Tuesday nights, BUT hopefully all my fans will speak up so I can get another shift, bygolly, 'cause I got bills to pay!

How long have you been working at Red Rock? I've been here for three and a half months and I LOOVEE IT! I can't believe how awesome all the girls are!

How did you get your job? I was hired during an open call. I had just returned from Boston after having a pretty serious surgery and my body was nasty and I was still recovering, stitches and all. I think there were a few things in my favor that day: Tracy and I hit it off right away and I loved her outfit, and I was wearing my favorite Harley t-shirt I cut up myself. When LoriAnn interviewed me, she mentioned all the requirements and I had NO IDEA I was gonna have to dance! I was like, "Now? I just had surgery!" I could see the hesitation in her face loud and clear-NO DANCE, NO JOB. So I bit the bullet, hopped on the bar with the rest of 'em, and danced as best as my recently sewed lower abdomen would allow me. The whole time just praying my stitches wouldn't pop. Thankfully it was worth it, and I started the next week.

What makes you a Red Rock superstar? I'm a big flirt!! Boys. Girls. It doesn't matter, I love everyone! Truthfully, I think it's that everyone thinks I'm so "nicea^??, and I am- I definitely believe 'you catch more bees with honey than you do with vinegar.' Yet, when I get fired up (or my A.D.D. does), I never know what'll come out of my mouth next or what I might do and that's when people (myself included) are shocked by me. I can actually be funny sometimes.

What is your biggest pet peeve? When I'm giving every one of my customers 150% the least they can give me is 20%!! I CANNOT STAND SHITTY TIPPERS! Especially if Ia^?(TM)m serving you for like 6 hours, uummm, a $6 or even a $10 tip ain't even $2/hour!We only work on tips people! That's it. If I wanted to work community service, my first choice wouldn't be bartending. I'd pick up trash in the park-at least then I could get a tan!

What do you do when you are not working? I SHOULD be going on my theatre auditions but instead I am either at Crunch gym (my other job), or tending to my greatest addiction:SHOPPING! Which I cannot afford and must stop immediately.

What is your favorite drink? My favorite drink is a "Nuts & Berries". I swear that's what it's called. But it really is great! I never suggest it @ Red Rock b/c we don't keep milk. Mix Chambord, Frangelico, and milk and for added flavor I usually throw in Kahlua. People say it tastes like Fruity Pebbles with the cereal gone. Don't knock it 'til you try it!
